Lost Paws Rescue of Texas – History

Lost Paws Rescue of Texas is an all volunteer 501(c)3 charity whose sole mission is to rescue abandoned dogs and cats in order to give them a second chance for a new life.

We receive dogs and cats from shelters across Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. They also come to us from owner surrender situations; as part of animal cruelty seizure cases; and from breeder releases. We take in dogs and cats with unknown medical conditions and work to get them well enough for adoption.

Our story began 15 years ago when the founder, Yvette Garza, decided she would do something we all probably think about...she would “make a difference”.

Her love since childhood was animals - so animals it was. So, with $150, a foster dog and cat, she started her charity. And in 2020, 8000+ adoptees later - she is still just as passionate about giving these former unwanted little creatures a good life.

Yvette is proof that one person can change a life...or 8000.
